2021 - 800 Miles from Norfolk, VA to Savannah, GA

In April 2021, Hope is Loud Founder, Ahamadu Sirleaf and a group of friends rode 800 miles from Norfolk, VA to Savannah, GA to raise awareness about the disparity in the bone marrow registry.

During their journey, they spoke to many Americans. What they discovered was, over 80% of the Black people they spoke with had no knowledge of the bone marrow registry or bone marrow transplant. Of the white Americans they spoke with, all of them knew about the registry and over half of them were already donors. This explains why only 8% of the registry is Black donors.

This disparity must be fixed, join us in 2022 as we ride across the country in the first annual Ride Across America Awareness Campaign.
